A crepe mix from Maison Zoe Ford of Montreal, the Sublime Suzette, that makes twenty-odd thin French crepes from one bag.

The batter comes out silky and thin the way crepe batter is supposed to, no lumps and no guesswork. Fill them sweet or savory; the mix does not mind.

You make a stack on Sunday, fill them with lemon and sugar, or ham and gruyère, or the chocolate spread for the kids.

Maison Zoe Ford

Montreal, Canada · Since 2009

Zoe Ford was born Esther Finestone in 1908 and took the more elegant name as a debutante in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Her granddaughter, the chef Jo Notkin, named the company after her and started it in Montreal in 2009.

The mixes are the grandmother's recipes rebuilt as dry mixes you finish at home. Notkin has cooked on Top Chef Canada and judged for Food Network Canada.
