A pale sphere of olive-oil Castile soap in a pine dish, the quietest thing at the sink and somehow the first thing you see.

House of Good makes it by hand in small Connecticut batches, olive oil through and through, cured for weight in the hand and a soft, creamy lather, scented in Black Cardamom + Santal. The pine dish keeps it dry between uses.

For the new apartment, the guest bath, the friend who notices the little things.

House of Good is two people in Connecticut, hand-pouring in small runs. They do not put their own names on it.

The wax is a vegan blend of virgin coconut and soy, the wicks are cotton, and there is no plastic in the packaging. The vessels have names, The Field and The Først among them, and the fragrances are only numbered, one through eight.

They describe The Field as a chalice and a candelabra at the same time.

Ships from the shop in the West Village within one to two business days. Or collect at 555 Hudson: most pickup orders are ready within four hours and we hold them for seven days.
