Stephanie Clarke started Dahlia Press in Seattle in 2008, after a decade designing for commercial clients, Starbucks among them. She works on a press more than a hundred years old that she calls Pearl.

Her letterpress runs in her own studio, one color at a time. Letterpress pushes the ink down into the sheet rather than laying it on the surface, so the image sits slightly below the paper. You notice it in the hand before you read the front.
