Casa Amarosa began when Nirali Guzman looked for a way to bring a piece of India into her new home in the United States. She grew up in an entrepreneurial family in Mumbai. The company runs from Washington, DC, and works with small producers across India.

The goods are made in India, in small batches, by family-run businesses, small enterprises and women artisans. A large number of those artisans are women from rural areas. Casa Amarosa is a Sedex supplier member, and its team in India visits the vendors it buys from.

The glass is shaped and finished by hand, so tone and form vary a little from one piece to the next.
