Amphora Vase, Terracotta
Sir/Madam's Amphora takes the two-handled vessel of the ancient world and casts it in deep, unglazed terracotta, soft curves banded with crisp relief.
The amphora carried oil, wine and grain along Greek and Roman trade routes, roped through its handles into the holds of ships. It was built to be lifted from both sides and to go the distance, and its silhouette ended up painted on urns and frescoes. Sir/Madam has each one cast in molds by artisans in Sri Lanka.
The Grande is a centerpiece a room arranges itself around. The Demi suits a shelf, a mantel or a side table. Leave either empty as sculpture, or fill it with dried branches. For a housewarming, or the friend who collects beautiful objects.
