A single pressed-glass wine glass from La Rochère, made in eastern France by a house pressing glass since 1475. A generous bowl on a short stem, made to be held. This is the glass for the night that starts with one bottle and ends somewhere better.

Pressed glass holds wine like it has done it before, warm in the hand, heavier than it looks, honest. The Napoleonic bee runs raised around the bowl, a small imperial secret hiding in a very unfussy glass.

In clear, or in Émeraude, Olive, Bleu nuit and Aubergine, so the table can match or happily clash, the way the most welcoming tables always do. For the couple who pours generously. For the wine friend with all the bottles and none of the right glasses.
